Information on support for student members of the Biophysical Society of Japan presenting at IUPAB2024

2024 January 25 For MEMBER

The Biophysical Society of Japan is supporting the participation of student members presenting at the 21st IUPAB and 62nd Joint Annual Meeting of the BSJ (IUPAB2024) in June this year. IUPAB 2024 is a major international conference bringing together prominent scientists of biophysics. The Society's Board hopes that this support will encourage as many student members as possible to attend IUPAB2024 and experience the presentation at this exciting international conference.
Applicants for this support are required to: (i) be a student member of the Biophysical Society of Japan; (ii) complete the early bird registration for IUPAB2024; (iii) complete the abstract submission for IUPAB2024. In addition, (iv) research supervisor must be a full member of the Biophysical Society of Japan and be a co-author of the presentation.
Student members who have applied (or will be applying) for the ' Waiver of early bird registration fee for student members affected by the Noto Peninsula Earthquake' are not eligible for this support. Please note that this exemption does not apply to the on-site registration.
Due to the limited budget, if a large number of applications are received, the Society's Board of Directors might make a selection to ensure that students affiliated to as many laboratories as possible can present their work. The selection will not be based on the scientific contents of the presentation. Priority may also be given to regional universities and laboratories without large budgets.
