In silico studies for the interaction of tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) with different saponins from Vietnamese ginseng (Panax vietnamesis)”

【Significance】
Potential TNF-α inhibitors from Vietnamese ginseng

Among ginseng saponins, the ocotillol-type ginsenoside, especially majonoside-R2, from Vietnamese ginseng (Panax vietnamesis), had been found to have highest inhibitory effect on tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α). Our study predicted the binding modes of three different triterpene saponins (majonoside-R2, vina-ginsenoside R1 and vina-ginsenoside R2) to TNF-α, which will be helpful for further investigation of the inhibitory mechanism. The information at molecular level is very important for understanding the clinical advantages of the triterpene saponins.
