Gram-positive, spore-forming anaerobic bacteria, Clostridium botulinum swim using flagella. C. botulinum produce extremely potent neurotoxins known as botulinum neurotoxins (BoNTs). BoNTs are the cause of botulism in humans and animals. In this movie, most of C. botulinum cells have a spore in their cell body (white spots).
