Predatory behavior of Hypophrya sp.

Species name: Hypophrya sp.

Hypophrya belongs to a peculiar class of ciliates called suctoria. An adult suctoria lose their cilia, but they form thin tube-like parts for taking food, called tentacle. Suctoria suck cytoplasm of other ciliates through the tentacles.
