Swimming movement of Favella ehrenbergi

Species name: Favella ehrenbergi

Favella ehrenbergi is a marine ciliate that has a transparent shell shaped like a wineglass and swims in water by using cilia projecting from the mouth of the shell. They contract and retract their body in the shell by receiving a stimulus, but after a time they extend their body and start to swim again.
