A model of in vitro gliding assay

Muroran Institute of Technology Kiyotaka Tokuraku

Bristle-grasses glide on vibrating surface like in vitro motility assay. The unidirectional motion generates from the random motion. The direction of the motion determines by polarity of grasses (microtubule and/or F-actin). The velocities determines by harmonization of characteristics of bristle (length, hardness, etc) and oscillation (frequency and amplitude).
