Single-molecule speckle microscopy directly visualizes the retrograde actin flow.

京都大学 生命科学研究科 山城佐和子

Left: DyLight549-actin (DL-actin) was delivered into a Xenopus XTC cell at a low density by electroporation. Individual fluorescent actin copolymerized with cellular actin filaments and moved toward the central region (retrograde actin flow). Right: Actin networks were visualized by Lifeact-EGFP in the same XTC cell. Total time: 60 seconds. Bar: 10μm. Reference: Yamashiro et al., Molecular Biology of the Cell (2014) 25:1010-1024.
