内容:
The life is generated on the primitive Earth as a result of interplay between complex chemical reaction networks and self-organization of amphiphilic molecules and macromolecules. The life has a very unique nature in contrast to the material; the life establishes the individual by enclosing it with a membrane (cells), synthesizes the energy molecules and building blocks from the nutrients (metabolism), and reproduces itself (self-production). The reproduced offspring has the same self-reproduction property as the parent (heredity). It is a great challenge to understand the life system based on the soft-matter science. In this context, we have organized international workshops to encourage communications among organic chemistry, synthetic biology and soft matter physics;
"From Soft Matter to Protocell" 2013, Sendai, Japan,
"Challenge to Synthesizing Life" 2015, Hakone, Japan,
"The Origin of Life - Synergy among the RNA, Protein, and Lipid Worlds -", 2017, Tokyo, Japan.
To accelerate the communications, we organize the international workshop "From Soft Matter to Protocell 2020". We believe that this workshop brings new insights to develop the protocell research and synergetic collaborations among participants.
