Early Career Award in Biophysics and Early Career Presentation Award
Since 2005, Biophysical Society of Japan (BSJ) has granted “Early Career Award in Biophysics” to young BSJ members for their excellent presentations that show great potential to contribute to the progress of biophysics. In this annual meeting, the society will continue the selection of the awardees based on the invited talks at the Early Career Award in Biophysics Candidate Presentation Symposium. In addition, the society will grant a new award, the “Early Career Presentation Award” to the rest of the invited speakers of the symposium. The society also modified the requirements for the award application to enable multiple winnings of the awards and to encourage the application of members who experienced life events such as childbirth. We invite graduate students, post-doctoral researchers and young investigators to apply for the awards.

The number of the awardees of the Early Career Award in Biophysics is five or less. The awardees of the Early Career Award in Biophysics and the Early Career Presentation Award are supposed to submit a research or review article on the topics related to the awards to “Biophysics and Physicobiology” within two years. Student members can apply for both of Early Career Award in Biophysics and Student Presentation Award.

2. Application procedure
First, applicants should download the application format below, fill out all the required information in the application form and convert it to the PDF format. Second, applicants should register for the 2016 annual BSJ meeting, submit an abstract of the presentation, and upload the application form in the PDF format via the abstract submission page. Only one application per one member is allowed. Student members who wish to apply for both of Early Career Award in Biophysics and Student Presentation Award should submit an application form for the latter award as well.
